What is the role of the partner theatre?

  • Partner Theatres welcome a ReImagine playwright into their theatre and community, bringing exciting new artistic voices into their spaces while prioritizing the needs of the playwright and their development process.

  • Partner Theatres are chosen by a ReImagine playwright to host their workshop. Workshops are typically one week in duration (20 hours in the room).

  • In consultation with the playwright, the partner theatre will hire the director, actors, and additional creative partners as necessary. They will also oversee all logistics of the workshop including stage management, audience/student engagement, etc.

  • The Partner Theatre will receive support of up to $4,000 to cover direct workshop expenses. The budget will be created collaboratively with the playwright and ReImagine. While not required, any resources the theatre could bring to the process (financial, travel, and/or in-kind) would be most appreciated.

  • While we hope this will be the beginning of a wonderful partnership, there is no obligation on the part of the playwright or the theatre to continue the relationship. The playwright retains all rights to their work; the theatre may opt to negotiate future workshops and/or productions with the playwright.
